It’s just amazing sometimes when you dream of something you know that would cost you a lot especially when you have to give up something that is very important in your life just to make that dream come to a reality.
This is a vivid glimpse of childhood memories that I want to impart which leads to the realization of a simple dream as I thought but a real big one. Looking back is what drives me to make another step forward.
I used to visit a radio station situated near my grandmother’s place during Sunday afternoon to witness the showdown of amateur performers vying for the price and prestige that this particular radio station offered. I really had fun watching them perform thinking that someday, I’ll be on that stage, with a microphone on my hand, performing in front of a huge crowd. But then, time just doesn’t agree with my tiny illusion plus the fact that I’m broke, no one seems to be on my side. Result? Confidence and determination were nowhere to find. And then I told myself… forget it.
Despite of it all, I was able to harness my craft in my own simple and funny ways like I used to cover my head with a pail and start singing. Right hand holding the pail and on the left hand is the music magazine. So far, that was awesome coz I was able to improve my craft. That was an amazing experience that I just can’t put aside. And since I didn’t get the chance to own those magnificent sound systems as what they called, still I found my own way of enhancing my talent and found myself in a singing competition during college days. I told myself I have nothing to lose. Then the opportunity of being a band vocalist and a wedding singer came knocking, standing on my doorstep.
Born in Cagayan de Oro city and raised and grew up in Ozamis City, Misamis Occidental with my grandma’s help and being an only child without biological parents with me did not stop me from believing on my dreams, work hard for it and succeed,
Finally, the long wait is over. Courage, determination and confidence were on my side and nothing can stop me from trying my luck this season to show the world what I have. This time, I don’t want to be in the crowd just watching, but I’d rather perform. Win or lose, I can tell the world that I did it.
